The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you finally made the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean more quality to the paintings, am i right?.
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

I'm leaving the details to your imagination, but here are some things I really like:
-White base color with black and red markings<33 (mostly on canines)
-Cute and fluffy things! No need to go all big eyes and oversized heads, but animals with fur. Creepy and slimy things just aren't my thing.. Still don't be afraid to make something dark/evil

extended absence

Dear Deviants, thanks for all the support once again

I lost the plot a bit towards the end of last year. I just couldn't see any reason to keep drawing. My plan to draw for a living was proving just as boring and annoying as any other job. Looking back I realise I haven't drawn anything or visited deviantart now in 5 months. I got heaps of positive comments back then when I had my big winge, but I didn't want to hear them. I was just over it.
But I'm back again. My computer completely died in the heatwave recently (at least I didn't get burned to death or flooded like half the rest of Australia). I had a backup of my artwork but everything else was lost, so I got a new and improved PC and started messing with photoshop, rebuilding all my brushes, and suddenly I was in the middle of a new picture.
I don't think I'll ever get the enthusiasm back that I had when I started out, but I do still enjoy the creative process, and I think when inspiration strikes I will continue to paint.

My apologies to all the people who asked questions of me while I was absent that were left unanswered, I will begin working through them now in an attempt to catch up again.

I hope you will continue to enjoy my artworks, that's all they're there for.

hehe, thanks mate. I don't seem to vent easily, probably been living alone for too long, but I tend to just slowly work through my shit in my head. If I talk to people about it before I've got it clear in my head I end up in these massive rhetorics that go round and round as we both try and sort out things that we don't fully grasp. I usually end up talking rubbish, then finally figuring out what I was trying to decipher a month later, then I have to go back and say, "hey, ya know all that shit I was rambling on about? yeah I was completely wrong-". And I hate being wrong

Maybe not the best approach, as it hasn't been entirely successful...

I know that feeling, and the only thing I can say is good luck. It can be challenging finding the drive and the motivation to keep going, but sometimes it helps to look back and see where you've come from and to just imagine where you might end up. It works for me sometimes.

Anyway, good luck, and good to see you around here again.
